My friend (and neighbor) walks around the neighborhood with another friend in the evenings (we live in a gated community - HOA). My friend informed me yesterday that, on two separate occasions, she and her friend have seen free-range chickens at a house around the corner, and one of them was a rooster! DH, DS and I drove by that same house yesterday and, though we didn't SEE any chickens, we definitely heard the rooster crow. Should I knock on the door to find out if they've already gone up against the HOA and won, or should I just leave it alone? I'd LOVE for my chickens to be able to free range a bit before we have to move, but right now I have them "hidden" behind my house in their coop and run for fear someone will see them and report me. What do y'all think?
