Should I assist the quail eggs? Pipped for 12 hours, no signs of life.

Oh boy...80 is too high. :barnie

50 is too high.

Candle these two eggs and see if they are still alive.

There's no way 50 is too high, they're coturnix eggs on lockdown. Everything i've read says they should be 55 or higher. Is 80 really too high? What happens when humidity is too high? Should I do the float test?

I've been hatching coturnix non stop for years. My most recent hatch, last week, was another 100% hatch.

So what do you recommend settings to be through the whole hatch? This is only my second hatch.
I've been doing 99.5ºF whole hatch, around 45% humidity for first 14 days, then increase to 55%+ during lockdown. I did my research, everything looked similar to my current settings

I believe, because it works perfectly for me, that lower humidity is better.
I would tell you to lower it to 25-30 and not raise it much for hatch time. I would aldo tell you to not raise it until you say an external pip or three.

Yes I do have some, one incubator has been in the 80s while the other wont surpass 50! should I try moving the low humidity eggs to the high humidity area? I have room for them. I might've killed those ones though cuz the incubator dropped to 25 one night, but I think I saw one pipped yesterday. What do you guys think?
Are your hygrometers calibrated? I'm curious as to why they're so different.

How many eggs total are in the bator?
6 in high humidity one, 7 in low humidity one. I really don't think I should lower the humidity that much, especially right now. Thats such a huge drop that it would probably dry out the eggs. I'm just going to leave it be as much as I can, I will add a breathing hole to the pipped eggs though. Thanks for the suggestion, I might try that next hatch.
