Should i assist?

I have a swedish duck egg that hasnt made any progress ...day 30 now..Should i help get it out or keep waiting ?

Has the duckling internally pipped into the air cell? Until then don't do a thing.

I see the air cell has dropped
Do you see shadow movement along that air cell ?
Can you see any bruising on the pointy end ?

You should be able to see the baby moving with enough light. If you don't see any movement, check very, very, very carefully for pips/cracks, and then if you don't see any potential water incursion points, I'd water candle the egg.

Yes its moving and i see movement in the air cell. Its hard to see on the pointy side

Do you see a beak in the air cell yet ?

Its not moving anymore. I did a little hole at the top to see if it would help and still nothing

Update : he started to move a little again! I can see his little beak against the egg

If you help too soon there is a big risk you’ll lose the duckling. Air hole should not be done until you know the duckling has internally pipped even then there’s a waiting period. @New duck mommy 2021
