Are woodchucks(groundhogs) predators? My husband says they're vegetarians. I say if they are hungry (especially during cold Ohio winters), the'll eat anything!

Thanks, rughooker

They are herbivores so they won't eat the chickens.
I think I heard once that if they get REALLY hungry they might eat a bird egg but I don't think they would fight your chickens to get one.

They do, however, make great food FOR the chickens!

When I was growing up we used to eat the occasional groundhog and the remains were thrown to the hogs, with the chickens darting in for their share.

The sort of do a long hybernation in winter around here. We only see them in mid spring and summer and through the fall. They are stinky. They are vegetarians. They won't eat your poultry. In fact if your chickens get one they will eat it.

They will usually run, HOWEVER if you get between a mom and her babies they will attack, and they have Huge teeth, or at least they looked Huge when momma was snarling and chaseing.
