When I'm collecting eggs my spoiled chickens like to jump out and when on does they all do so I let them out this time and well that's when the story begins. So when I let them out before I saw 2 big birds maybe vultures idk but they were like over by my neighbors but really high in the sky and then dissapeared well my smart brain told me to let the chickens out so like not even half way through one of the birds flew VERY close over our heads and my rooster screamed and they all ran to the coop but didnt go in bc it was gone before they could so I was being very cautious and let them still out. So a second time one swoops by and was higher so I was like alright maybe I should put them in. Well by the time that thought ended one glided above us EVEN CLOSER and that's when I ran into the run and got the girls in and closed them up. Moral of the story big birds make chicken owners go crazy. Should I put netting over this area so I dont have to worry. I only let them out if I'm going to be watching them. Dont mind the wood and tarp things it's just were getting them ready for winter lol.

They are probably vultures. We have them here but they haven't bothered my birds. I have some good heavy duty netting covering my pens. I had an owl go through some crappy netting. I replaced it and the owl tried to go through the new good heavy duty netting and got caught. We got it into a cage and called a wildlife rescue who came and got it.

These pens are completely covered with good heavy duty netting.

Thank you for the replies. Where going to be checking stuff out and seeing what we can do bc I want my babies to be safe and not have to worry. There only out for like 5 maybe 10 minutes but I try my best to collect the eggs without them coming out and once they here the door open it's like a heard of bulls coming at you 😂
