Should I Be Concerned???

We set our eggs Monday, April 6th at 9pm. We candled on day 8 and found 8 out of 11 to be fertile. This past Friday we removed the egg turner and increased humidity to 65% to prepare for hatch day. Around 4am on Monday, a new chick hatched. We left it in the incubator for about 20 hours before removing (with no major drop in humidity). Well, I expected to wake up to a couple new chicks this morning, but so far nothing. I’m starting to worry. We’ve never had this much time between hatches. Yesterday and this morning, I swear I heard faint peeps coming from at least one egg. Should I be concerned? Should I have left the chick in there over 24 hours (did I shrink wrap the others)? I'm feeling very nervous and upset I may have just "sealed" their death. They are in a Brisnea incubator.

If there are no external pips you can take them out amd candle them. Look for internal pips. (Pics below) Has your temp been accurate? 99.5? It sounds like it was a bit too cool in there. I wouldn't do too much yet.

Temp has remained steady at 99.5. I'm nervous to candle them now in case I make matters worse. I don't see any pics of internal pips. How long can they survive inside the egg at this point? When should be my drop dead date to hold out? Thanks for replying btw.

Oh sorry the pic didn't upload correctly. It won't hurt them at all and then you can know if you should help. If they are internally pipped they can breathe for about 36 hours. Then they have to externally pip to breathe. They can breathe through super small holes, and they dont even have to break the membrane, so don't worry if they make tiny pips. Give them until day 26 and then candle again. I had a late bloomer hatch out totally healthy on day 25.

Here are the pics.

Wow, great pictures. I guess I will leave them be now as tonight is the end of day 23. I swear I heard a peep this morning, but haven't heard anything since- maybe it's just resting. We've never had hatching issues before (this is our 4th year), but this is the first time with the Brisnea. I will let you know what happens. Fingers crossed at least 1 baby hatches. The one that did hatch cries and cries.

They're not my pics, but thanks. They really show it very well. Fingers crossed for you!
