Should I be concerned?

My Son gets it everyday since the second day

Homework for a grade two-er seems like too much. When I was in school, homework was mainly mundane, pointless busy work. If they had held it back to just the important stuff I bet we would rarely have homework. Let your little one enjoy being homework free because it won't last for long.

Homework is not just about the work itself, it is an exercise in organization, memory, persistence, and self-discipline.

There are better ways to teach each of these. Pointless homework also teaches frustration, power control (by another, a form of bullying) and a lack of common sense.

My son is in 2nd grade at a charter school. The first week of school, he had spelling homework.

Weekly HW:
Words 3x each due on Wed. and sentences with the words due on Thurs.
2 sheets of math hw every night (except Fri)
Then he has a math packet that gets sent home every month. He has all month to complete it. It has 30 pages.
He also has book reports, science projects, and social studies projects.
He gets it all done in 20 min if he's applying himself. 45 if he's not.
