About 45 minutes ago I looked out at my chickens and I noticed my BA hen, Betty, standing in the corner of the run. Something about the way she looked standing there just didn't seem *normal* so I stood there and watched her for a few minutes. She was just standing there not doing anything. I went away for a little while and when I looked out again, she was still standing there. So I went out, walked over to her and was able to pick her right up. That is NOT normal for her, she normally runs away when I try to pick her up.
Anyway, she was shaking when as I held her but I chalked that up to nerves since it isn't cold here today. I brought her in the house and put her down. She looked fine and started walking a bit so I scooped her back up and took her back out (my roo was anxiously waiting for her return
) and set her down. She calmly walked away from me so I thought that I must have been overreacting.
Well... I've been watching her and she is just standing. I don't know how to describe it, she's just not acting like normally very active Betty, know what I mean? Her comb and wattles are bright red and she isn't sneezing or anything, she's just standing very still. She's 8 months old and lays almost every day. She has not laid today, but she may not lay today, so
about that being a problem.
How long before I should start to really worry about her, and what should I look for if she continues to act strange?
