Ok well, I have been looking into chicks on Meyer Hatchery and they have this production pack that is all Buff Orpington, Black Austrolorp, Rhode Island Red, and Barred Rock hens, though you have to buy at least 15. I live in the city so I wouldn't be able to keep that many, plus my parents wouldn't want that many. So I was thinking that I could sell some of the chicks that I couldn't keep. But I just don't know if they would sell. Plus I want to get them in November so I really don't know if many people would want to buy them in that month.
I would just like some advise on whether you think they would sell or not. Thanks

People aren't looking for chicks going into the winter. Unlikely you would be able to sell them. If you have the room to grow them out to 16-20 weeks you can easily sell them in March. Check your CL. I see a lot of chickens dumped in the late fall that people just don't want to deal with in the winter.

Not sure where you are located, but you could probably buy a lot fewer number if you have a local farm store or breeder. All of those you listed are common varieties (for good reason, they're good layers and nice birds!)

I'm thinking this also. Bad time of year to buy chicks to resell. You could probably get away with it in March, April, like that cause folks have chick fever. Or, if you could grow them out and sell them as started pullets in the spring, but that doesn't sound like an option for you.

just pay more and order what and number you need.. it will cost you more than the extra .50cents per chick to sell them...and the feed ext..jeff

Well, I might be able to keep them until they are started pullets and just sell them in March. I am making a new coop this summer so I will have enough room. Though I just don't know how much I would sell them for. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Check craiglist right now and see how much people are selling them for. In my area started pullets go for $10-12 per bird.
