I have wood shavings in my coop bit heated sand is good should I change it from wood shaving to sand or should I just add sand to the shavings many thanks

I am new to raising chickens - been using a lot of uTube for tutorials. Read to create dirt bath - top soil and peat moss. So I decided to use peat moss instead of sand or wood chips - the ladies think the softness is wonderful under foot - keeps smell down - and they love wallowing in it. Am using peat moss in their run and in their upstairs nest boxes. Good or bad decision?
