Should I Clip Wings?

Two of my chickens keep flying over our 4 ft fence and getting onto the patio and are eating all the cats' food. Clipping their wings should help that (right?) but I'm afraid they won't be able to fly up on to their roosts at night. The roost is about 4 ft high but they like to jump on another one which is about 3 ft higher than that. I'd hate to "handicap" them, but they are becoming a real nuisance!

If you put the cat food in a different spot where they can't see it, they might not be tempted to go get it. But I'm sure some more replies would be helpful

I successfully clipped the wings of my flock of 10 (at the age of 18 weeks) because they were doing the same. I came home to find Nearly all of them and my neighbors garden!:barnieThey have no problem still flying up about 3 feet and getting to the roosts so watch a few videos on the site and go for it. Don’t be surprised if you need to re-clip a month or so later. My Leghorns flight feathers grew back quickly
