My girls are 19 weeks 3 days old, no eggs yet, and they're still eating grower with some corn on the side, since I have to get more feed this weekend, should I change them up to something else?

What breed are yours? Mine are Rhode Island Red X Columbian Rocks, most of them have red faces and combs now, but a few have almost no comb, and it's just a bit pink, they're all happy and healthy, no mites, nothing, so I suppose a few are just slower to mature or are just younger.

Mine are EE's.This is the first I've had them.Got them for my kids for fun.But pretty lame as layers go so far.Miss my Australorpes now.People at work ask me each day if I've got eggs yet.
Best breeds I've had for eggs so far were BA's #1 then following would be BR and RIR.The worst I've had were Speckled Sussex. The EE's I have now may make the list though. Will

I started my girls on layer when I got my first egg. I had some grower left and just mixed it in with the layer. No problems.

Haha, yeah we're getting 5 EE's come spring to add to our girls, it might just be the time of the year? It's always very dark and overcast out now, and I DO open our popdoor every day regardless of the weather, but they're really not interested, and prefer to stay inside under the light I have up, no heat, just 100W bulb to keep the water from freezing, but I'm starting to get some funny noises, and they're making depressions in the shavings like little nests in a couple of the corners.

i have a question that i asked before and either didn't get an answer or i completely forgot

i have too much grower (via an innocent mistake) and i'm expecting eggs soon, can i just add oyster shell to the grower or should i change them to a layer pellet and just toss the grower ? i probably have over 50 lbs of grower and we're at 4 months.
