I have a tom and hen turkey and was wondering if they eat the same feed as I feed my chickens. I also feed them scraps but was wondering if they need more portein in their diet.

We feed both the chooks and turks Purina Gamebird Maintenance and put out free choice oyster shell for turkey and chook hens.

They need higher protein feed than chickens do.
I raise mine together so I mix layer, cracked corn,
and dog food 26 %... As well as letting them free range all day.

It depends on the age of the turkey, we start ours on 28 game bird starter, then 19% chick start n grow. The adults we feed during egg laying season a 18% layer, during non laying a regular 16% layer - same as the chicken layer. Some whole corn in the afternoons - more in the winter less in the summer. Fresh greens and grass plus all the bugs etc they can find. This time of year we also boil back quite a few eggs and feed them that.
