should i get a crested duck

i am thinking about getting a crested duck in the future are they worth it? ive heard that some of them have problems with there feathers on there head making there head too much wait for there neck to handle is it a good idea?

It is not the weight of the feathers that causes problem. It that part of their brain is missing/reduced. There is a lump of fat inside of their heads that takes up space that the brain should be using.

I emailed metzers about it, and they swore to me that their stock doesn't have the neurological issues that many many stocks of crested ducks have, but they also advised against hatching eggs from parents who are both crested, But hatching one of their crested ducks with a non crested duck is safe

If I had a choice ide get one crested male from metzers, and one keep one male in my flock
