Should I get a goose?

Any recommendations for where to buy from?
Ask your local feed store if they will be ordering goslings.

Or order from a hatchery.
Some hatcheries that seem to have a good reputation:
www.idealpoultry.com
(minimum order $30, only has a few breeds, no sexing, goslings are a bit cheaper than some other sources.)

www.mcmurrayhatchery.com
(minimum order 2 goslings, lists many breeds but many appear to be sold out at present, offers sexing on some breeds)

www.metzerfarms.com
(minimum order 2 goslings, lists many breeds but many appear to be sold out at present, offers sexing on some breeds.)

(Note, I have never personally bought goslings from anywhere. I have ordered chicks from McMurray and Ideal and been satisfied with the quality and service. I know that other good hatcheries also exist, that I didn't bother to list.)

I'll get two then. I'm more thinking of a waning to me and the chickens if a predator comes because my rosters a doing a sucky job

They would have a separate house next to the chicken one.
Roosters alert too and no they don't fight foxes (neither do geese) If your hens don't respond to alerts for the rooster it doesn't make them useless. The hawks usually pick out the stragglers that don't hang around the rooster. They know its easier to get one by itself than grabbing one out of a group (usually the group is where the rooster is)
