Should I get a male goose to protect my flock?

Male or female they won't do much protecting. But will provide a large enough meal that it may hold the predator over for a few days. Guess that may save a chicken or two for a few more days.

I agree. My best defense is nice large covered pens for my birds with electric wires around the pens and coops and concrete under the gates, which I did because of losses from predators in the past. I also have game cameras up around on my property and see predators on them but I think the adults teach their young that a chicken isn't worth it.
