I want a turkey, but I don't know if I should get one. Also, can a chicken or duck raise a baby turkey? We have some birds who want to be mothers, but our males can't mate with them.

A chicken hen might successfully raise a poult, but I would not try it with a duck.

It is not a good idea to have a single turkey. They are very social birds and should have more of their own for company.

Turkeys aren't for everyone. Based on what little information you have provided, I would recommend that you do not get a turkey.

I do not recommend having a chicken raise a turkey due to the problems that imprinting can cause once the turkey is an adult. I would never try to have a duck raise a turkey.
