Hi, This is my first time incubating eggs. This is day 15 and there are 4 Ameraucana eggs developing nicely. I have one Welsummer egg remaining after starting with 6 for that breed. The others were infertile or stopped developing early. I think this one has stopped as well, but I want to run it by some more experienced people before I toss it. Thanks so much!

Hi :frow

I would say yes this egg has also quit. There looks to be a blood ring there and decay from the embryo. At day 15 the egg should be looking pretty full and as this one is not I would go ahead and toss it.

Good luck with the rest of your hatch :fl

How dark is this egg. The shell color can obscure what's really going on inside the egg. When I hatch my marans eggs I let everyone go the distance. I segregate the ones I think/am sure aren't going to hatch and I have had one or two hatch.

Your egg your call. I've never had an egg explode in the incubator. Just my personal experiences.

Thank you all for replying! This one was a quitter. The dark line was a blood ring and decomposition was happening. It was a dark egg, and I was nervous about giving up on it. There just wasn’t a change in darkness inside when candling. Could see light shining through the entire egg minus the dark blob which was the stunted embryo. I appreciate the input!
