Hey redneckgirl I'm trying a first time hatch here & I'm on day 15 of turning by hand. I didn't mind it so much really & I'm at home so it wasn't a problem with me being away from the incubator all weekend. I only tried this because I'd had the thing sitting here from a prior experiment trying this by one of my kids from years ago. I hadn't really paid much attention at the time because he'd wanted to do it really on his own & so I had been watching with him of course but the set up & instruction I'd let him do basically on his own. I don't think we'd set the bator in the correct place at the time & so his hatch didn't turn out well at all.... Anyway I had thought to buy the turner for this now but then I thought I'd just try my hand at this here while I'm around all the time during the holidays anyway & then later if I want to try again I'll add the turner. It can be done and it wasn't too big a deal really. I've been turning 3 times a day when I wake up mid way through the day & then prior to bed & I always wash my hands just prior to turning...
