I had an egg pip around noon today and now its 10:30 with no progress. The little guy is still peeping but im wondering at what point do you need to help them out?

THe chick needs time to absorb the blood vessels. Opeining too soon can result in a torn vessel and the chick bleeds to death. Be patient. Since the chick can breathe ok, As long as the chick doesn't seem to be getting weaker, leave until tomorrow morning. I try to sit on my hands for at least , as long as I can, I'm not always good at waiting but interfereing can be the death of it.

Open slowly peeling back the white membrane, revealing the clear membrane with the vessels. SHould be very fine vessels or no vessels left. Open slowly and stop if necessary.

Great write ups here on BYC to read up on the details. You have time to read before opening.

PS. SOmetime the chicks thrive, sometimes they don't.
