My daughter has a blue bantam roo. He was suppose to be a she, but you know how that goes. ANyway he is super sweet to all of us, but he is attacking two of my hens and pulling all of their feathers out. He is a very good roo already by protecting the hens and even showing them where to find food in the woods (he calls them to him).We do have a polish top hat roo as well who is very skittish, but also taking a beating. The blue bantam is only about 17 weeks old so I need to know if this is a typical roo behavior and will it stop. We know we want to keep one of the roos and this bb is my daughter's favorite. She will be upset, but I have to do what is best for the flock. The man down the street said he will take whatever roo we decide not to keep. Any advice will definitely help. Thanks

Personally I would keep the least agressive of the two. At his age he is probabaly just hormone ridden and thats why he is so rough but i would not take a chance i would keep the polish.

Thank you! My luck I get rid of him and he turns out to be the better one.....lol

We had decided to give Blue to our neighbor in a few days. When I went outside a few minutes ago I noticed he was finding worms for all of the hens and cackling to them to come and get it.....ugh this is so hard. He seems to be a good rooster in some ways and then he goes and plucks everyone's feathers.....My other rooster is the polish and he is so goofy that I don't know if he will be a good flock leader. Maybe he will when Blue is gone??

Thanks everyone
