I filled the incubators and my girl is still laying. I ransacked her nest already because I am worried about letting her set again, since it's getting later in the year and it will take a whole month for them to hatch. I moved her to the chicken pen/coop & she has been laying inside, mostly.

Do you think they should be okay? It usually doesnt get CRAZY cold here, but we have been getting an above average(for here) amount of snow the last few years

.

the run is covered and the ducks should have a new pen soon, but that's not for sure yet. if i keep her in the chicken pen should i make her an actual BOX with a hole cut out

..... i know how they like to hide n' hatch.

If i don't keep her in there, should I make her a small, covered brooding pen? I don't want her to be miserable and i dont want to lose any babies either. I have a half set up pen already(no fencing or house yet). it's about 7' wide and 20' long.

DILEMMA!!

Personally Ive had no problms with ducks going broody in winter and we have been getting snow these last couple years. Try the hidey box out, that sounds very interesting and will definantly be warm as long as its stocked with ALOT of hay.

I think i am going to put something together today, it should fit right underneath the chickens nest boxes too. and then i will pray that she lays in it! lol
