I have a 5 week old Wyandotte cockerel, and he is really sweet! He loves to hop on my shoulder, all the way from the ground! We hang out a lot lol, but he loves to tap a freckles and cuts, and lately, my ears, its not a hard peck, but a curious tap. It isn't aggressive, but I don't want him to think its alright to peck me, should I tap his head when he does it?

All of my hens tap me out of curiosity and pull shavings out of my hair for me, I allow them to. I read some where online that chickens preen thoughs they love. I don't know how true it is, just thought I'd share with you.

Yes, I agree, chickens by nature are peckers, Mine have pecked my teeth and freckles, more of a curiosity thing , but as they grow in size and strength that may become a bit more aggressive , especially males who are more dominant. You may want to curb that behavior, maybe allowing him on your lap, not so near to your face. 🐔 :)

I try to keep him on my lap. He just managed to crawl up there.

The eyeball is to far for me lol, for some reason chicks love eyes! One of my pullets have my sister a nasty cut on the eyelid, and Penguin tried to tap my eye today, he stays away from the eyes now.
