Should I let the chickens out in the rain???

We live in Washington...if I didnt let them out in the rain they would be stuck in their coop 350 days a year....

It wont hurt them to go out, they wil go out if they want to and go in if they wish as well.

The only time I don't let them out when its raining is if its a heavy storm, windy, icy, freezing rain etc. Regular old rain tho, they are out playing and having a grand old time.

Let them out. My chickens are out every day, no matter the weather. They haven't played in an ice storm so far this year, but played in em last year.

I open the door and give mine the choice. Rain they don't mind. In fact sometimes they look like mud balls (try dust bathing in the mud - doesn't work). They don't like snow, however. Cool weather is fine as long as its not windy but they don't like snow.

I am in Florida too and I let mine out. If it rains hard they go back into the coop but soft rains they don't mind and tend to like it! I leave their coops open so they can decide for themselves. Mostly they end up back in the coop.

By the sound of it, they'll do just fine in the rain. I wouldn't worry about it at all. My chickens are out in the rain all the time and even the snow, and there's no harm done. Chickens mostly don't mind rain.
