So i have to ducks sitting on 2 nests out next to the creek. Its been a couple weeks now i think and i have 1 drake that goes after everything. The dog, cat, other ducks, chicken, our feet, you name it. But he is really sweet if his brother drake isnt around...and im worried if i let them hatch either the female will take them somewhere predators can get to them or they'll get picked on relentlessly by the other ducks. So should i move the females and her nests into the smaller enclosure i built before they hatch or will that make them abandon their eggs?

Those females need to be taken off their nest ASAP, keeping them out at night is just waiting for something bad to happen. Most likely once you move them they will not sit unless it's the spot they chose to begin with, in my experience.

I have them pretty well monitored at night where they're at now but if they hatch and she takes them down to the pond they wont be and they've been on their nests for at least 2 weeks, so dont they have only about 7 more days before they hatch?

Move mama too. I put my mamas in a small dog crate pick up nesting material along with ducklings and eggs that haven’t hatched and put In a box carry to a secure place place nest material ducklings and eggs down then let mama out I close her in with food an water I have never had one abandon done this way but all ducks are defiantly different.

If you don’t want to move then now better get them when hatch starts. Then move them I take nesting material along just scoop it up and take it with you where your going to place mama and her ducklings.
Ok. Thank you. Thats what i will do then. Do you think she will she follow me when i move the nest and hatchlings or will i need to move her physucally myself?
