I'm going to an auction tomorrow morning and I have noticed in the catalogue it says there is a belgian barbu d'anvers hen and a silver-laced wyandotte bantam hen for sale. So how can I resist? I have an extra five meters square space in my large fowl run and the coop is plenty big enough. Now, should I get them or shouldn't I? I have to ask because otherwise I'll just go and get them! I wont blame anyone who says yes if something goes wrong!!!
But I need your opinion whether these two could live with four large fowl hens? I have a separate small coop and run where they can live when I introduce them to the others, but I wouldn't want to keep them in there for ever. Just wondered what everyone's opinions are? I need to decide quite quickly, I don't know where I can get either of these breeds near me so this chance is quite rare!

Thank you!!

Get them!

I feel that it's the more the merrier when it comes to chickens. We have our bantams (as small as bantam modern game) and our LF (biggest is a show quality black Australorp) and everything in between together. We just made sure that when we introduced the small birds to the big birds that we had hiding places for the smaller birds.

Ok, sounds good, thank you. There are plenty of hiding places for them. Anyone else say yes... or no?

Sadly the bidding got too high

dissapointed now, but I now really love Blue-laced Wyandottes, I've found a couple of breeders near me, so I'm gonna have a look. Hopefully I'll have a couple of bantams by the end of this week

Yes!
We're getting a Buff-laced Wandotte and a Barred Wyandotte on Friday! Both are banties and POL pullets
