Should I provide baby feed for broody hatched chicks?

I always take the broodie and her nest, put them in a hatching cage, and let her hatch in there. I feed them all chick starter for the first 2 months. After that I swap back to my all flock.

Yeah, she won't need the extra Calcium in Oyster Shells till she starts laying. You have Rocky soil so she probably won't need Poultry Grit for digestion. GC

All the posts I read here are excellent. A broody hen, especially one with new chicks is working double-time to hatch the eggs and raise the brood of chicks. She can use all the protein and vitamins she can get.
As such, we feed our "mommas" Starter Feed right alongside the chicks. We also work in plenty of live mealworms for Mom too!
PS: Make sure she IS eating; we've seen some broody hens get so carried away with hatching eggs and taking care of chicks that they simply forget to eat....
