I have one male quail and one female quail. I used to have three females but an animal got to two of them and I think the the male fancied a certain one that is now gone.. Ever since then he's been crowing non-stop! This has been going on for days now and I can't seem to get him to stop. I just brought him inside because I'm worried about people complaining(which I can totally understand) I'm really stuck here because he can't stay inside.. And he can't go outside.. Should I just put him down? Or is there some secret way of getting him to shut up... Whats the most humane way of putting him down?

Get him more girls of you can. He may become happy with just one but probably not. He is crowing so the others can locate him & that part might stop in a few more days but he may crow to try to get others to join him.

If it is easier for you to just cull him then enjoy a snack with him. The method I consider best others might not consider humane. I use a 20oz pop bottle as a cone to bleed them.

Thanks for answering my question!
I think that I'm done keeping quail (at least for now) so.. How do you use a pop bottle?

Cut the bottom out & make the opening in the top big enough to get their head through. I fastened the bottles to a tree. Put you birds in head first & cut. I'm a little soft hearted so no matter which method I used I still fell sorry for the bird. But this way they seem calm, it's quick, & the bird taste better. It opens your hand up to get more started & there is no blood when cleaning them.

I was already culling chicken this way so this is how I did my quail.

Thank you!
Yeah I'm an animal lover and have never killed something before (except for bugs of course) but since we aren't getting anymore quails I guess the best thing for him(and us) is to cull him... I hate doing though. He's the prettiest male I've ever seen.
