Should I remove it? Chord wrapped around a leg

(Wasn’t sure if this thread or the raising chickens thread was the right one for this since I hatched them) He hatched a few days ago and began walking funny yesterday and I thought it was probably straddle leg and had gotten the thing for it but upon checking today I noticed this. Is it safe to attempt to free the leg?

Clip it close to the leg and carefully remove it.

So I did, it looks like the chick developed spraddle leg due to it being tied back by that chord for a while
