Should I turn the automatic turner on yet?

Wait 3 days before you turn the turner on. It gives more time for the air cells to settle.

I have always been under the understanding that once in the incubator, and therefore developing embryos, the eggs should be turned or the embryos will stick. I thought the settling was meant to be done BEFORE they went in the incubator??

Apologies OP, if I gave incorrect information.

Shipped eggs have different rules. They should sit fat end up for 12-24 hours prior to incubating and then not be turned for the first 3 days in the incubator. They can have some crazy moving aircells so this extra waiting is to try to settle them more.

I agree with giving shipped eggs extra time to settle. I've always had trouble with their air cells and giving them a little extra time helps. I usually wait a day after I put any eggs in the incubator before I start to turn them just to let them settle a little, it always has worked great for me! Hope your hatch goes well and you get lots of little ones!
