We live in a rural area, forests behind, hayfields in front. There are snakes in area, copperheads, rattlesnakes, king, rat etc. Have seen snake 'holes' around, one with a tail disappeaing into it. That said I am building an 12x20 carport aviary that is covered with 2x2 wire and will have smaller wire on bottom too. This will be a night pen for my geese and runner ducks. I have round gravel on the bottom.
Wouldn't geese deter snake interest? I would think they wouldn't bother anything that big . Or next year if there are babies or eggs, would that attract them or will the parents be big enough to negate that? I would think the mice in the hayfields would be enough for them.....
Right now I am brooding everyone in the garage. That may be my future intent too.
