We had a similar situation last year. Our bird was a little older and I was worried that the post on the earring might poke her crop and perferate it. However, I guess we lucked out as the chicken is still with us with no ill effects. I would just make sure she has access to grit so that it can be ground up in her crop. that is my assumption as to what happened to my daughters earring. Chickens can handle alot. We often find "chicken glass" as we call it. Where our chickens free range is an old home place and they are always digging up pieces of broken glass. Often they eat it before we find it and sometimes they regurgitate it and my daughter collects it when she finds it. It looks like sea glass. Kind of foggy and smooth. I am just amazed no one has cut themselves and bled to death.
