should I worry

My Rhode Island Red has not laid in 2 days and this morning she went through the process like she laid an egg. She even cackled like she laid an egg but when I went to go and get her egg their was no egg. Should I be worried.

They do take mini vacations sometimes. How old is she? If it goes on for a week then you can be concerned. This time of year they usually don't take long breaks.

My EE took an 8 day break two weeks ago. Then she started back up like nothing had ever happened.
