I have 4, 3 1/2 month old,Silkies and have been in my house since they hatched.
They are off of heat, have been for awhile, fully feathered, and I want to put them in our coop. Its not heated,no drafts, lightly insulated.
Its been below Zero last few weeks at night, in the Teens day time.
Will they be ok plopping them outside now?

I figured as much.
I read so Many posts saying " I put my chicks out in cold soon as they are feathered"
I didn't really agree with that so I thought I'd get a Second opinion.

Silkies usually don't do well in extreme temps whether it be hot or cold.

My adults are doing pretty good in their coop and run this Winter.
I'm thinking about purchasing a ceramic bulb for some heat.

My poor Copper Maran,Pretty boy Floyd, got frostbite on his comb last night.:(
Vaseline goes on tonight!
