Should I?

Pics
Hey BYC friends!

3 weeks old tomorrow.
So far, so good. 😊

Does anyone know why the feet on my 3 Plymouth Barred Rock are turning black? Of the 6, (3 are buff orpingtons), the barred rocks are the friendliest, and most interactive, but I can't find any pictures of them with dark colored feet, as adults or chicks, so I'm confused.

I managed to get a close up of the feet of the larger one, which is the one who seems more gray in the group photo. Her ( 🙏 ) feet are the darkest of the three.

Hormone changes in their bodies can cause legs and scales to change colors. I don't think this is an issue here however you can start a thread in our Emergency forum for opinions, especially if she is acting differently than previously... https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures.10/

Thanks for the reply.
The 3 of them seem very happy, and I haven't noticed any behavior changes. I'll continue to monitor them, and post there, if I notice any other issues. Maybe mine just have weird genetics.

The 6 chicks are still in the 5 foot diameter dog pen, in my living room.

They are so smart, interactive, and sweet, but I have to keep them busy in their small space. If I open the top of the pen, they fly on to my arms, and then up to the edge of the pen, which is 30"H, and look around, working out their plan to take over my home.
I try to approach through the side doors, going into their space, instead of them coming into mine. They let me pet them, and nibble at me, giving me cute side eye.

They are only 3 1/2 weeks old! Omg, it's amazing.
When I introduce a plate of wet crumble, or add some new earth to their dust bath, they come running, and keep themselves entertained for an hour, and then nap.

I've had them out twice, and while they don't enjoy the process, they do enjoy the adventure. The 36" high chicken wire run on the lawn was high enough on Monday. I'm hesitant about tomorrow, lol.

The plan is to move them outside to their coop and run when it's ready in a week to 10 days.
I'm going to miss their sounds when they move.
It will be too quiet in here. 🥰

Thank you for the confidence all of you instilled.
Chicken life is wonderful!
