First broody hen of the year (not planned, but still excited) and what should have candled at a two week embryo just looks like a completely dark embryo that changes form when I roll the egg. Looks like rotten yolk churning in the egg. Am I right? Never candled an egg that did that. Hen still has three other eggs that are a different set date that she will keep if this is a no go. I dont want to throw it out if I am wrong but dont want her to have a rotten egg mess either. Please help, will keep the Green Goo egg warm until IA get the ok from someone to throw it out. Thank you.

It should hatch by this weekend . I recandled it again that night and looked normal! Maybe my eyes were playing tricks. Now I have a bigger problem...I left three more fertilized eggs with her thinking the first was bad. They have a set date a week later than the single possible bad egg. I know better than to stagger the hatches like that. S with my luck watch all four eggs hatcg, dumb. Well I have a contingency plan, sort of. Anyway thanks fot the advice tho
ugh. I will know more by Sunday.

Thankks for taking the time to reply to my predicament. As i was saying, I should have a definite answer by this weekend. I just have a real hard time giving up on anything which is why I have almost every roo that I hatched out last year except for one i gave to my neighbor and two or three that got predated. As an aside I already have a name picked out in case the questionable egg does hatch....Goo!
Anyway, thanks again.
