should there be a small light on in the coop at night?

My hens hate the cooop and prefer to sleep on top of it. Im thinking it may be because theres no light in the coop and it gets dark.

They have roosting bars, roost boxes, shavings, and its roomy and clean.

Nope. The days are still long. You can put one in the coop in a month
or two when the days get shorter.
