should we help a chick get out of the egg or no? (dad want to know)

Mostly it's a bad idea. Why do you think you might need to help? When you open the bator during hatch you can really mess up the temp. and humidity which makes it harder for all the chicks to hatch so try not to do that.

There are reasons to help, but we need more information. When did it pip? How long ago?

If they're under a broody I'd leave it be. It's not uncommon for it to take 24 hours or even more from pip to hatch.

Yeah since it's a broody, I would only help if the mama gives up. They usually don't.
