Should We wash eggs before incubation?

I have wondered about this for a long time. Sometimes it just rains for days in a row during Spring and the chickens feet carry the dirt to the nest. Therefore we get lots of dirty eggs this time of year.
I have hatched both ways dirty and washed, but just wondering what other members think.
And if there are any old timers on here that would have a home made concoction for an egg wash?

I have heard that you should wash them before incubation.
I could get you an egg washing instruction if you wanted it.

Really???

I would only wash them if I was going to put them in my refrigerator for eating. There's should be a sticky for incubating. Let's see if I can find it.
