should you leave rooster in the pen

i was wondering after the rooster and hen breed , should you take out the rooster for a few days or just leave him in the pen.

I leave my rooster in with the girls all the time.

I take mine roosters out of the pens in the summertime til late fall...gives the girls a good rest and helps when its time for the new pullets to start getting use to the older hens without a rooster chasing them down

Who's gonna run the roost if you take him out? I leave mine in all the time. The hens follow him/his lead and look to him for protection.
