I am super tired and bored at work. Not in a great mood, but chickens always make me feel better! Share your favorite bird, photo, and/or story! Come on. I know you like to jump at the chance to talk about your birds.

They are definitely different! I have only 1 fully feathered bird in my flock, she's a crazy Dorking mix.

Red (leg band color) Rosie is our friendliest. The first one to greet me and jump into my lap.

She's beautiful! So many chickens look like they have a mean mug from that angle (my buff brahma for sure), but she looks so curious and friendly ^_^ I don't have any birds anymore that will jump into my lap, or even stay when I put them there. They still love hanging under my feet though.

This is my 4 1/2 year old hen and her name is Popcorn. At six months old, we noticed that she was not feeling well. Being new to chickens, I didn’t know what to do so I called our vet. He agreed to see her and did some x-rays and said that he couldn’t really find anything wrong with her but she was refusing food and water. He ended up keeping her in the office for three days. On the second day, she laid a big lash egg and I had always Been told that was certainly not good. They were tube feeding her and giving her lots of love. On the third day, she started looking much better and the vet loved her so much he wanted to keep her. I love this chicken so there was no way ha ha! Many of my friends often asked why we were doing this for chicken because “it was just a chicken“. Luckily, our vet bill was only about $88. We ended up bringing her home and she actually stayed in our house for about three more days. We returned her to the flock and the rest is history. Now, four years later she is our sweetest and one of our best layers. Sorry this is long but I love her so much!
