Show me your brooder set-up!

I don't have any money for a heating plate I've always used the lamp. But I have 2 brooders right now one in my room and one in the coop with adult chickens I have food, and water. Some perches and disco bals hanging on the side since they're shiny View attachment 2619299View attachment 2619302
I like the glitterballs and perches! are they secured on the outside? I've been thinking of ways to add perches to mine.

Thats awesome getting to raise chicks that you incubated yourself. I have yet to share that experience but I look forward to that day. I enjoy just watching mine. I have had them for almost two months and watched them grow into their feathers and start establishing their peeking order. It is a very enjoyable experience for me!
*Pecking* that is!! 😆

:welcome :frowto our newer members.

I use incandescent bulbs as a heat source. Works great.

I bought a kids swimming pool 6ft in diameter. I have a heat lamp,a 1 gallon waterer, and a 5 lb feeder,I think, lol!!! I use pine shavings and have a homemade roost now that they're older!! I also draped a piece of construction safety netting over it to prevent test flights!! Lol!! I hope this helps View attachment 2616073View attachment 2616075

I have been using a tote with the heat plate, but just picked up this pool and am switching to this set up! How do you like it so far? Do the sides stay up? I was planning on screwing dowels from side to side for roosts but also to keep the sides up. I got the 8ft pool. This looks good

I'd be careful with the low sided pools, or atleast with just the loose netting draped over. Chicks (even very young ones) can and do jump and explore. The sides are very accessible and it would be very easy for one to fall off the edge and become trapped between the netting and the pool.
