As far as appearance, yes, definitely. I've never butchered any to see if the weights are vastly different between American and English Orpingtons, but I can definitely see a difference between them and the American Lavender Orpingtons that are commonly sold.Also are they bigger than regular Orpingtons?
I have not had issues with mine in the heat until last year. I'm in Texas and we were in a drought and temps regularly were over 100-110 here. They suffered a lot. But not just them. All the birds. I make sure they all have shade and usually run a sprinkler for an hour or so over their yards so they can cool off in the damp dirt. They aren't a big fan of standing in shallow water to cool off like some birds.Sorry one other question. I’m in Georgia so do they do ok with the heat?
