Also are they bigger than regular Orpingtons?
As far as appearance, yes, definitely. I've never butchered any to see if the weights are vastly different between American and English Orpingtons, but I can definitely see a difference between them and the American Lavender Orpingtons that are commonly sold.
 
Sorry one other question. I’m in Georgia so do they do ok with the heat?
I have not had issues with mine in the heat until last year. I'm in Texas and we were in a drought and temps regularly were over 100-110 here. They suffered a lot. But not just them. All the birds. I make sure they all have shade and usually run a sprinkler for an hour or so over their yards so they can cool off in the damp dirt. They aren't a big fan of standing in shallow water to cool off like some birds.
