I don't know what could prevent it... I kind of wondered with my own if it was because I use the broomstick method rather than slicing their neck and bleeding them, but I really don't feel like they hold more blood that way, even though some claim they do. I did rest them in ice water for three days too, so if they HAD extra blood, one would assume it would have leeched out. Perhaps if one soaked in salt water it would do more? Or not.
I do have some Cornish X in the freezer that I did bleed out, I'll dig them up and take a picture tonight if I get time. They are parted in pieces, but I'm sure that shouldn't really make a difference.
I dont think it's the method of kill because I sliced and bled out, then ice water for 3 days. I think it may have to do with them not being dry enough before the freeze. Perhaps I need to let them dry longer/more before bagging.
