Show me your poop traps!

Filled with sweet pdz. I've got a kitty litter scooper hanging on the wall, takes 2min a day to scoop it out and put it in a 5 gallon bucket, when it's full I empty it into the compost pile

See, i thought about filling the coop floor with sand. Figured that would be way easier cleanup than the typical hay/straw. My coop floor is also dirt. I dont want to put to much into my current coop as i will be building a new one, but figured sand would be much easier clean up for now. My roosts are corner roosts, so i figured building some kind of poop catcher would be a little more challenging. I just know im sick of changing hay and shoveling compacted crap and wet hay. I did the deep litter method throughout winter, and that was hell to clean out!

I have pine shavings on my floor, and do not like poo to build up, lol. But with the poop board I rarely see poo in the coop cuz all they do in there is sleep and lay, so it has been staying pretty clean. I don't know about sand, I've read some folks say it's great and others say it stinks, so I can't help ya there

I love my painted poop boards. I can do a poop glance or inspect when needed. I scrape into a dustpan and it goes straight into the compost bin pretty much daily. I can go for as long as I want to deal with. I also dust my boards w/ DE for mites, flies, ease of scrape, smells. I scrub clean every so many months or as needed/wanted.
Boards are not sexy or for the faint of heart but they really work for me on many levels.

Same. My chickens are only in the coop to lay and sleep. So theres only poop where they sleep, under to roosts. But there's 15 of them, so theres ALOT of poop to deal with. Im not sure how sand would stink more, or atleast more than wet hay. Anythings gotta be better than what i got, lol. I did try pine shaving once, but they didnt seem to care for it. Idk if it was the smell, or if it was just a new change they didnt like, but they're satisfied with hay. I'm not! Lol

Nice, but i don't think id want to be scraping dried poop much either. Maybe something i can remove and powerwash off, or scoop like you do a cat litter box. The less mess and elbow grease the better, lol.
