Mine aren’t laying yet, but we’re almost there. I’m so excited!! I’ve got a couple of EEs that I’m anxious to see the color they lay. I’m still learning about all of the different breeds and pretty colors and shades they produce. I love seeing photos, so show me your eggs! Please include what breed, too! Thanks!!

i dont know why the chick was wanting to lay in the food but the mother s a d,uccle her name is trixie and the baby is a rir mix with a bantam rooster she was with two other eggs but they did not make it the chicks name is pixie

Thanks this was my first broody and her first brood she had wanted little chicks for so long I’m glad she’s finally got one

They have to lay in the food dish. Kind of like cats - "if I fits, I sits."

That is a pretty egg I have two EEs that I hatched and I can't wait for them to start laying which should be soon
