Show me your quail pens!!!

Ah I love this set up! The pull out trays must make life easier. Also is that a ramp I can see at the back? Can they move between the 2 levels? Just asking as I think I read somewhere that they don't really do stairs or something :gigthough I could be very wrong!
Some do, some don't. They are ground birds by nature, so if you do include a ramp, try to make it as shallow as you can.

I’ve noticed that 2 of my birds climb quite a bit. The pearl fee and one of the wilds. I have no idea why 😅 I frequently see them hop on top of their houses/logs to peek over the siding or sometimes just to loaf up for a high-altitude nap. I want to add a couple higher “lookout” perches and ramps around the aviary someday (just for fun) as I suspect they would use them, but that behavior is very uncommon! I hope it’s not a stress response, they seem very happy otherwise. Mine are just aspiring mountaineers I suppose 😂

Hi all! New quail owner here. Thought I'd post my set up (I'm UK based) and happy for any constructive criticism! I have 6 girls and 1 boy. All approx 5 or 6 weeks old. I'm v new to this and know I have a lot to learn. Keeping them as pets and if I get eggs, hurray! Also it is definitely not this neat or green anymore! I've only had them 6 days and wow they stomp it all down and poop everywhere. Covering with wood shavings and planning to rotate each month moving it to a new patch of grass.
Aha...you are moving this one cage around?

Mix and match

Wynola Ranch Myshire. UPS beat it all up in shipping, cover for feed and rollout was damaged, the cage box had been dropped on 2 different corners, warping the top and bottom of the cage, I straightened it out best I could, can’t really use it as intended with the stand and poop tray so I just hung it up in the quail shed.. the water trough is a good idea but I just can’t use it either.. I wasted money on this one but that’s the way it goes sometimes. I prefer my homemade hanging cages..I have since taken the stand/legs off.. it is nice for what it is but don’t waste your money on the Myshire edition.. 3-4 of their cheaper cages would be sufficient if you are just looking for breeding cages..

And these hanging cages too.. 10 inches in back and 12 inches in front so eggs roll to front out of the “field of play”.. I keep 6-7 hens for eggs in these or 1/6 rooster over hens for breeding.. work just fine..
