That is exactly what it does. Be careful though because it is against BYC rules.

Good to know, I didn't realize that...

Well my chicken math has me at 5 Roosters at this current moment. I am thinking of building a Bachelor pad as well, I have heard that some don't fight as long as they don't see hens, I have heard others say it runs like a prison ( big bubba type stuff) , so I will wait and see.
I saw on the coop threads someone had an open air concept, which pretty much looked like kennels completely closed in with a roof that I may do for my roo's.
Except I may enclose the back of it for our occasional cold weather.

I just finished building a bachelor coop this evening. It's a small "snoopy dog house" type coop that is 3'X3'X4.5' high with a 12'X12'X4'high run that is detachable so I can move it around the yard. (I'll post pictures tomorrow.) I need to separate my RIR and BO roosters from the girls and give them a break. I put the RIR roo in first and then the BO roo. I went to get something while my dh watched them. I was gone less than 5 seconds when he yelled to me that they were fighting. MY RIR roo is a mess! They are both the same age are from the same batch of chickens. They used to live together with all the girls until I separated the two breeds about 2 months ago. I thought they would remember each other and not fight but I was really wrong!!
I may have to build another coop and run for my RIR roo or rotate the roos. Leave the BO roo in the bachelor coop for the next month, then put him back with the girls and put the RIR roo in the bachelor coop to give his girls a break for a month. My BO roo is definitely NOT happy by himself. I put the RIR roo back in the hen house with his girls until I figure out what to do.
Any ideas??
