Some folks are nuts and keep spare roosters
Since it is usually not wise to keep them in a common coop, building little individual coops for them seems like the thing to do
what have you all designed?
show me pics please

I'm bumping this for you....

Ha, thanks. I was thinking I would need to come back with some possible designs
I think everyone is thinking, why would I have rooster coops?

I have extra roosters to insure against losing one
I have extras from hatching that I am looking for homes for to sell or give
I have pets...
lots of times roosters meet an untimely death due to their sex
I like to give them a life unless they get very unfriendly.

Most of them need their own coop
so wondering what folks do to house their extra boys.
sometimes I can put brothers in the same coop with no one being agressive
oh well
maybe I'm the only one

There have been some other posts on here about bachelor coops. You would need to search for them as I didn't bookmark any.

I am planning on doing a bachelor coop and run. I wont be having any games so I was understding that they would just form a bachelor flock as long as they didnt have a hen to fight over. Is there something I am missing?

Now I am off to go dig for references to bachelor coops.

My roos will fight even when the are no hens around. I am keeping the temporary coop as well as building a coop duplex with divided runs to accommodate my boys. I'll have pics when it is finished.
