Basil the Basque is quite a sweet bird! Thanks! He's less tame now, but not bad. I have my first buff orpingtons & one of the 4 is very nice! Very people oriented like Basil used to be. It's nice to have 1 or 2 pet chickens that love to be petted!

There are buff orps, EEs, columbian wyandottes, black australorps, white chanteclers, white rocks & dark cornish in my flock this year.

Here's that EE today at 7 weeks old.

A snapping turtle that lives in my pond. Heard about him from previous owners. First time seeing him this morning after 4 years. Just a bit bigger than my size 9 boot.

Here's my little Basque cockerel. He's 11 weeks old.
Sure that is a basque? Basque are usually yellow. Looks like a Cream legbar.

Was looking at some cream legbar pics. Very similar. He was very people oriented when I got him. Very pet like. Now he's bonded more to his new flock. Still friendlier than other roos, by far! I swapped 2 POL pullets for this guy & was told he got him from a nearby breeder who bred basques. I won't be upset if he is a cream legbar, they are nice too!

I just noticed his red ears. Cream Legbars usually have white ears. I am not sure what he is. I guess you will find out when he grows up. The important thing is that he is sweet. I am sure he will be a nice flock roo whatever he is.
